At the end of August, we threw a crayfish party at Operakällaren that will go down in history. The shells were flying, the caviar cart was rolling around, one schnapps song followed another, and eventually everyone was dancing on the tables. Thank you to everyone who joined us and brought an era of crayfish parties at Operahuset to a close in the most decadent and grand way we could have hoped for!

Emanuel Tärnqvist has been appointed Executive Chef for Operakällaren and simultaneously assumes the role of culinary leader for the entire Operahuset. We are pleased and honoured to share the news that Operakällaren was named Sweden's fourth best restaurant in April by Falstaff Nordic Restaurant Guide Sweden, after they tested 110 restaurants across the country. With 97 out of 100 points, we were awarded the highest possible rating – four forks – an accolade for which we are very grateful.

It is now confirmed that Operakällaren is teaming up with Johan Evers and the team behind A Bar called Gemma to create Bar Othilia, set to open on January 16, 2025.

Operahuset, an iconic venue in the heart of Stockholm, has for hundreds of years been a central point for culture, gastronomy, and festivities. Generations of visitors have experienced everything from sophisticated dinners to grand celebrations here.
