In September 2024, the Operakällaren Foundation and WaterAid organized a landmark breakfast seminar at Operaterrassen in Stockholm, focusing on how access to clean water and sanitation can improve public health and education in Tanzania. The seminar highlighted the challenges faced by the country's most vulnerable areas, where the lack of clean water particularly affects women and girls.

Sustainable development through cooperation
Speakers included international figures such as Jan Eliasson, former Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Ola Rosling, co-founder of Gapminder. They emphasized the importance of clean water as a fundamental right and a precondition for sustainable development. By working together, companies, organizations and communities can contribute to concrete improvements for thousands of people.
Ongoing projects in Tanzania
An ongoing project in the Hanang district of Tanzania was presented, where access to clean water and sanitation will improve the health and school attendance of children, especially girls. The project is an example of how collaboration can create long-lasting change.
